You gotta have high hopes

I love real estate ads. They’re always so optimistic!

Today one turned up that opens, “Owner started renovations on large house with garage apartment off the freeway.” (Which freeway?) Then there’s a picture:

Well… it’s large. I wonder how far the owner got with those renovations? 

Hmm. Well, I guess “started” could mean “I thought about it, took an Advil, and put the damn thing back on the market.”

On the other hand, it does appear to include a burned chair and a man. 

I’m a huge proponent of saving old houses, but honestly? I see townhouses in this lot’s future, and that’s not a terrible thing. 

The ad concludes, “Pick up this gem, dust it off, add polish, and it will shine.” Like a bonfire!

You do have to admire the chirpy optimism, though.
