Arrival

Just woke up half an hour ago, and as I was outside with Teddy, some light rain began. Turns out that the storm did indeed take a little turn and headed for the state line, though it did get strong (65 mph winds). 

I think it was drawn to that big Texas star at the rest area right on the state line on I-10.

I live in the lighter green area just left of downtown. 

This is actually like what Rita did, heading a little east of here, which is good for us (if not for the people who live east of here). 

The Chronicle’s SciGuy says it’s unlikely most people in Houston will see tropical-force winds, but it will be wet. My biggest issue remains taking the dog out for business later. Happily there is a semi-sheltered spot not far from the back door.
